Re-purpose Paint Chips/Cards

This weekend I got crafty. It was encouraging to finally have the energy and creativity to decorate some of the house and have it feeling more like home.

So, I'm going to share with you all two ways I re-purposed paint chips/cards. :) (Sorry for the sub-par photo quality, couldn't find my camera so had to use iPhone)

||Colorful decoration for a craft room||

1. Separate the two pieces of the clothespin. (Make sure to keep the spring on one piece) Using a wall nail, hammer the clothespin into the wall. The wood will split; this is okay.

 2. Hold the other piece of the clothespin onto where it should belong. Push it to the left so you can complete the next step.
 3. With your R thumb (nail), lift the spring and set it on the indented spot on the top clothespin piece. Then slide it to it's original location.
4. Voila! You have a colorful and easily interchangeable decoration piece for a craft room. For additional color you could paint the clothespins, or add a colored frame around the pins.

High -- Low

Today I was checking out some high -- low deals on HGTV and it left me feeling inspired to do some shopping. So of course, during lunch, I made my weekly Target visit. While perusing the aisles I spotted a mirror I have been in love with over at Lowes. Different in size, but same design. And thus begins my first 'high--low' post!

The Target mirror is a good size difference than Allen Roth's, but for a $40 difference I think I could definitely handle it!

P.S. I am really looking forward to buying this starburst mirror for my bedroom!

Or, I could DIY for much cheaper.

Happy Monday! :)

Month of May updates

Well, May has thrown us quite a doozey.

-May 5: On the cruise. As you can see from the last post it was an amazing experience and I think about the beautiful Carribean waters at least 5 times a week. *happy place*

May 6: We officially moved into our house. This means we got our friends & my mom, dad to help move everything out of the apartment and into the new house. AKA done with Bardin Greene Apartment-living. YAY!

May 13- Mothers day.

Right top: Chance and sisters took his momma out to eat for md. Bottom: I got to spend some time with Lady outside.

May 18- Hub's 23 birthday! He was woken up by a kiss, of course, and many happy birthdays by his ever adoring wife. Balloons were hung and he had to parade through to get to the kitchen. There was a basket of 'kinky candy.' Unfortunately there wasn't as much as I would have liked to prepare, but I think he enjoyed it none-the-less.

May 27- Memorial day. Bought a grill! Had the friends over. :) My first time to go to the casino (yes, on a Sunday?!). I am still having troubles with the fact it fell on a Sunday.

May 28- Rangers game. GO RANGERS!

Updates

Well, I only have a little bit to update you all about. [Not.]

Cruise: The cruise was exactly what the doctor ordered! I thought that 5 days was a perfect amount of time --hubs could've stayed on another 18 days. We did lots and lots of just enjoying the sun and the wind...enjoying the boat...the ICE CREAM! Our first excursion was to see the Mayan Ruins. So neat! But that was about all there was to it. The next day was Cozumel, Mexico! By far my favorite out of the whole cruise. The water was just gorgeous. Snorkeling was amazing!! Pictures to come, soon. We so enjoyed having mom & dad on the cruise, too. Took away the lonely feeling that was there during the HM.

Homeowner-ship: Very different! We LOVE it though! Feels complete. <Can you tell  I'm super in the 'posting' mood?>

New.

House. Cruise. Leaving Cowboy for the longest time of his life. Oh man, how do we comprehend all this NEW?! I can't wait to begin uploading all the new pictures of how the house has changed!

The week leading up to closing on the house yesterday was so stressful and very packed. We packed the apartment up, packed for the cruise, and had our last night with our friends over at the apartment. Then, yesterday, we SIGNED ON THE HOUSE!!! We left work at 10 AM and headed to Ft. Worth to sign! We signed all the papers, got the go, and headed to the house to get the keys! Hubs had to go back to work so I went to meet the ADT guy at the house to install the new system. Then I met Hubs back at Apartment, we picked out our fridge from Conns, cleaned the apartment/got our bags/filled the cars with boxes, and HEADED TO OUR NEW HOME!!!

We had such a fun first night :) It involved Domino's pizza, The Ugly Truth, Unpacking the cars, taking a shower, playing with our sweet Cowboy, and just living it up. (Which of course involved singing Opera the whole night and jumping around like a crazy person!)

Today we told Cowboy goodbye until Thursday. I'm so sad :( but I only cried a little bit! *Success*
